Silver III
Four – 1 ½ or 2 hour practices per week
Practices are any 4 days, Monday through Friday.
Silver III will place a majority of time refining stroke mechanics. Yardage will be increased (3,200-3,800), starting to emphasize conditioning. Timed sets will become more demanding and the swimmers will need to show a tolerance for the increased practice yardage and length of the practice session. Dry land exercises are an integral part of the practice routine. Dry land practices typically begin 2 weeks after swim practice begins, you coach will supply you with the exact start date. The swimmer must show a commitment to ALL aspects of the practice schedule. Swimmers will be encouraged to swim a minimum of 6 meets.
Goggles are mandatory. Competition swimsuits are recommended for the boys and NO two piece suits for the girls. Team suits are recommended, but not required. If your child has long hair, a swim cap is required. For dry land practices you will need a jump rope and proper attire (shorts, t-shirts, and tennis shoes)
